Live Cams

This camera in located on Cape Hatteras in North Carolina at the REAL Watersports facility. The Cape is internationally recognized as one of the best places to kiteboard in the world as well as a premier East Coast surf destination. The camera faces southwest and shows both the staging area and the sound, where you can see the kites and SUP'ers in action. REAL operates a full-service kite, surf and stand-up center that offers both gear and coaches to provide you with the best "on the water" experience. If you're interested in learning, or just heading down for some action, these are the guys to see, be sure to stop by their site and get all the details on their operation. Thanks to Trip and the guys at REAL for hosting the cam.

Welcome to the Live Camera Page! This webpage is the electronic descendant of the somewhat famous WalkCam Page that has graced this space for nearly 15 years. The current incarnation of the webpage uses StarDot's webcams to allow virtual tourists to check the action without fighting for a parking spot. Currently, the cameras are located in Santa Cruz, CA (my current home) and on the Outer Banks of North Carolina (at the REAL Kiteboarding facility). If you are curious and want to learn more, please start with the F.A.Q., a virtual clearinghouse of information about the cameras and the WalkNet site. In the F.A.Q., you will find everything you would ever want to know about the author and the history of the other cameras that were part of the original WalkCam Page. In the Archives, you will find pictures that have been taken by those cameras. If you would like to make your visit more permanent, please take a minute to sign the brand-new Guestbook. If you have any other reason to contact me (old girlfriends, pending litagation, unclaimed money, etc), please drop me a spam-free email here. In any case, thanks for visiting and enjoy the views.
